I didnt see any 71' Impalas or Capris with 24" wheels on them. Are you sure they are kings? Where are their Grills?

Total rubbish!! some correctionsThe photo of the Benin Oba is Wrong that is not him and he is also not called Salomon Igbinoghodua but his Majesty Oba Erediauwa of Edo. Isiemwero is a chieftancy title of my family and not a kingdom, The gentlemen displayed both from benin are not kings but lords of fiefdoms.

Kingdom of Abomey was where Werner Herzog's "Cobra Verde" took place... where the "slave fortress" was located and whose king Klaus Kinski's character deposed in the infamous "snake" scene.

The title for these pictures should be "Big Pimpin', Afro Style"

Or

"Bitch, where's my 40?!"

Didn't see the Kings of either Lesotho or Swaziland; Moshoeshoe 3 of Swaziland has several wives andmany children; he assumed the throne when he was about 18 - about 20 years ago, I think.
But some great portraiture - is it just me, or do a couple of the royal faces lok a bit like Robert Mugabe, despot & despoiler of Zimbabwe?

I like your photographs, they excellently manage to capture the graciousness and the splendor of these cultures, which have largely been taken for granted civilized cultures and usually treated with ignorance instead of respect…

…and some dude should have told that wacko HAPI IV, King of Bana, Cameroun that there was a mofo tiger pouncing behind him. Sick.

These pictures are great. I am so pleased that the intelligent people are able to ignore the stupid, small minded comments from people who don't respect themselves or anyone else. Whoever took these did a wonderful job. They really capture the beauty of the people and their courts. Keep up the good work.

Hi. If you do not know any thing, please do not write stuff that is so embarrassing. Point of correction. King Moshweshwe is not from Swaziland but from Lesotho. It is King Moswati III how has many wives and he is from Swaziland.
